Can I separate the cloud server storage into multiple disks?

1.Question

Can we configure the allocated storage space for the cloud server into multiple disks, visible as separate disk entities within the operating system?

2.Solution

In Interspace Cloud, each virtual server includes a Primary Disk by default, which is the built-in storage that is permanently connected to your server and cannot be removed. This disk hosts your operating system and can store all other data based on your requirements. Our control panel doesn't provide tools for creating additional Primary Disks, but if you have a unique case that requires this configuration, it can be implemented on demand by contacting Interspace support. For many scenarios where the virtual server operates with only a Primary Disk, you can create multiple partitions to separate the operating system from other applications if needed.

For cases where you need multiple disks, we recommend adding Volumes of Block Storage, known as "Attached Disks" in Interspace Cloud. These disks can be dynamically added, expanded or removed as your needs change, unlike Primary Disks which are permanently tied to your server. Despite their flexibility, Attached Disks are treated as persistent disks in the virtual server's operating system and can be retained and used for the entire server lifecycle, just like the primary disk where the operating system runs.
