Secure Private Connections to the Cloud
Interspace Cloud offers a number of technologies that enable secure connections for your servers and other systems in the cloud, to and from outside networks such as the Internet.

1.Cloud VPN

Interspace Cloud VPN is a next-generation technology for creating a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that can span across multiple physical sites and cloud resources. It is an evolution from traditional VPN systems, with the key difference: the central hub (VPN gateway) is located in highly secure and reliable cloud infrastructure. The central hub can accept the following types of VPN connections:

  • Connections from VPN routers for site connections
A VPN router is a network device that connects an entire site/location with the VPN network. They can be deployed at headquarters, branch offices, retail locations and other facilities. The VPN router enables all computers and devices on the private networks at that site to communicate securely with other connected sites and with your servers in the Interspace Cloud.
  • Connections from VPN users for computer connections
A VPN user represents an account that can access the VPN network directly from computers or smartphones, even if they are not part of the private networks of the connected sites. No additional software is needed, as there are built-in VPN clients in Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android that work with our VPN technology.
  • Connections from cloud servers
All servers in the Interspace Cloud can join the VPN network simply by adding a network interface to a private IP subnet that is part of the VPN.

The VPN connections create highly secure tunnels for data transmission among all connected points, encrypting data as it travels over the Internet. Interspace uses IKEv2 with IPSec for securing the communication, which are among the most reliable and widely-adopted VPN protocols available today.

VPN connections are managed and monitored in the My Interspace web control panel, with tools for creating access accounts, private IP pools, monitoring current sessions, analyzing past sessions, disconnecting sessions and more.

This service is perfectly suited for banks, software developers, CRM/ERP service providers, healthcare organizations, legal firms, accounting firms, e-commerce businesses and globally dispersed teams.

2.Cloud NAT Gateway

Cloud NAT Gateway enables inbound and outbound connections over the internet for your virtual servers that have only private IP addresses.

Servers access the internet by routing traffic through the NAT gateway router. Optionally, servers can receive inbound connections from the internet using the port forwarding feature.

This solution helps you avoid costs for public IPs while providing additional benefits:

  • Secure internet access for backend applications. Backend applications can access the internet for software installation or updates without being exposed to public access.
  • Enhanced security for web applications. Web applications can be accessed publicly on custom-defined ports while remaining behind NAT, reducing the attack surface.
  • Managed dedicated system. Each customer receives a dedicated routing system with a dedicated Internet connection using static public IPv4 address. The system is installed, configured and continuously maintained by Interspace.

3.Cloud Fiber Line

The Cloud Fiber Line integrates the LAN networks of your physical offices with your Cloud Private Network, using direct cable connections to your sites via a fiber network that operates independently of the Internet.

Once integrated, computers and other IT devices in your offices can access virtual private servers, dedicated servers, and other Metro Ethernet endpoints over a secure connection that does not use the Internet, established via direct fiber cable.

Each office location is connected through high-speed fiber optic lines with guaranteed bandwidth. The lines terminate at an Ethernet interface, enabling easy integration of different networks using well-known Ethernet switching/routing devices.

The primary effect is substantial cost savings by sharing your storage, applications, and other IT resources across multiple locations.

4.Web Console

The Web Console is a free tool that provides a direct interface to your cloud servers via any standard web browser. It simulates the experience of having physical access with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, enabling real-time interaction with the server.

This feature is primarily useful for temporary tasks such as installing an OS from ISO images or restoring IP-based server access after a firewall misconfiguration. The tool is accessible through the My Interspace control panel under your cloud server user interface.
