1.Intro
The Backup Storage service provides a destination in Interspace Cloud for storing your backups and archives. It can be used by apps that support the S3, SFTP, FTPS or WebDAV protocols, including specialized backup apps such as NAKIVO, Veeam, Acronis and more.
It is based on an advanced Shared Folders design, where multiple users, teams and automated jobs use the same folders, each with their own access level. You can activate Disaster Recovery to replicate your data to a remote datacenter at a safe distance.
The service is optimized for writing large amounts of data and restoring it only when needed, which is exactly what makes it much cheaper per terabyte in comparison to storage used by operating systems for constant file access.
2.Advantages of Backup Storage from Interspace
2.1.Support for multiple protocols
The Backup Storage service can be used as a destination for backing up data over the traditional FTPS, SFTP and WebDAV protocols, as well as the modern S3 storage protocol. Tools that support only S3, such as Veeam or NAKIVO, share the same space with systems that support only the traditional protocols.
2.2.Shared folders with user access levels
Unlike conventional FTP backup services where each user gets a home folder, our service is designed around shared storage. You assign users to Shared Folders, and each user sees only the folders they have access to. Teams, servers and automated jobs use the same folders with granular access rules (full / read only / no access).
